I have to say, Leo Varadkar’s idea of putting a minimum price on alcohol, in order to combat binge drinking, is a farce.
Binge Drinking a Problem of the Lower Paid
Does the Health Minister suggest that binge drinkers are all of the lower income class?
How does this combat binge drinking amongst those who can afford to do so?
Education instead of Nanny State
Education is the key, Mr. Varadkar, not some stealth scheme of making more money.
Fact is, that people with serious alcohol problems will find the money to satisfy their needs – at the expense of other things, such as food, children’s clothing, toys, etc.
Where is the Politics?
I always thought you were one of the few Ministers who were actually doing politics, but I was wrong.
